Many realise there is more to travel than just ‘being there’. The founders of Active Travel, Robert Fletcher & Christine Pearson, recognised this when they established their specialist travel company, Active Travel, in 1982 and escorted the first group from Australia to cycle in China.
 
Since then the concept of Focussed Journeys has grown and developed adding extra meaning to the travel experience for our clients. We have won multiple awards for our professionalism in travel and continue to produce innovative, value-for-money travel programs.
 
Our programs are diverse. Clients have enjoyed visiting gardens in South Africa, walking in Japan, cycling through Tibet, viewing solar eclipses, or discovering textiles and crafts in Asia. Our tour participants come from a variety of backgrounds - and from around the world. They share common interests – a desire to experience a destination in greater depth, and for some, outdoor adventure, while others relish our walking itineraries.

The expertise of the Tour Managers together with the organising experience of Active Travel means participants are assured of a travel experience that showcases the best of the beautiful countries visited.
